Drill is very important in the Air Cadets. It is used to teach fundamental skills to cadets such as discipline and organisation as well as showing how a group can work well together. Cadets also get the chance to command a squad and this develops their leadership and command skills.
Cadets often display drill in public at events such as Remembrance Sunday, the Battle of Britain parade and ATC Sunday. They also compete in drill competitions with other squadrons.
Cadets display high standards when doing drill. These skills carry over to everyday life and soon you will begin to hold your body more confidently in public and walk with pride.
