Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award. We offer the opportunity to earn your award with the Air Cadets.
The DofE Award is highly respected by employers and higher education institutes. It shows determination to complete a challenging task and ability to work in a team. As well as helping your CV, the award also develops self confidence and teaches you useful life skills.
The Dofe Award is split into 4 sections:
-
Volunteering - This section is all about helping in the community, from helping with older people to looking after animals this section is all about giving back.
-
Skill - This section is about learning a new skill and discovering what you are good at. It includes things like learning an instrument or learning how to be a sports referee.
-
Physical - This is about improving your health and fitness. You can do it with others in a team or on your own. You can do any activity that requires a sustained level of energy and activity such as football, cycling or running.
-
Expedition - You will plan and complete an expedition as a small team, carrying all your food and equipment with you. You will improve your communication and leadership skills and come home full of memories.
Dofe is available at 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold, with each level increase meaning a longer expedition and longer time spent doing the volunteering, skill and physical sections.
